Our subconscious mind is mostly made of stimulus-response behaviors that are downloaded into our subconscious.
In simple terms, your mind is programmed based on what you feel, see, touch, hear and taste.
For example, when you smell that favorite cologne or perfume it brings you into that favorite memory of yours like you are there once again.
Your subconscious remembers everything and operates only in the present tense. It does not rely on the outside world for its knowing, so there is no way for your subconscious to know the difference between what is real and what is not.
The subconscious mind uses pictures and feeling to communicate. For this reason, you can practice in your mind without ever actually doing the motions. Your conscious mind is the more logical part of the mind. It thinks and uses words to communicate. It directly perceives the outside world for what it can see.
What is Creative Visualization?
The definition of creative visualization is the practice of shifting your thoughts with the purpose of positively influencing your environment to manifest your ultimate desires and turn them into your reality. A simple act of closing your eyes and imagining a scenario you want to come true.
Visualization is the process of reconstructing the sounds, feelings, and images of your desired situation in your mind. It is based on the idea that whatever you can design and imagine in your mind will manifest itself in your physical reality.
Benefits of Creative Visualization
Through creative visualization, you can change everything around you by picturing what you want them to be. There are more than a few various ways that you can put creative visualization into practice.
8 Benefits of Creative Visualization
- Lowers Stress
For the creative visualization process to be effective, you have to learn how to get into a relaxed state of mind. Spending a few quiet moments, visualizing something and quieting your mind can help to lessen the amount of stress that you experience on a daily basis.
- Increases Self-Esteem
After practicing creative visualization for a few days, you will start to become more confident because you’ve repeatedly practiced success in your mind. The more confident you are, the more opportunities you’ll find, and the more success you’ll experience.
- Boosts Positive Thoughts
You can also significantly improve your mood when you practice creative visualization on a regular basis. The act of visualizing, in detail, your heart’s desires can increase the joy you experience while relieving stress. Once you’ve finished a visualization exercise, you will feel more relaxed, calmer, and notice a shift in your mood for the better.
- Benefits of Alpha Brainwaves
When your brain produces Alpha Waves, you experience greater relaxation, improved focus, and increased pleasure, which can lead to a reduction in pain, stress, and anxiety. When you practice creative visualization, your brain produces these Alpha Waves, helping you to become healthier, while helping to sculpt your dreams and manifest your desires.
- Provides Deep Relaxation
Every time that you practice a visualization technique, you will emerge from the session more peaceful and deeply relaxed. After a time, you’ll start looking forward to your visualization practices, not only for the chance to manifest your greatest desires but also for the extreme relaxation and peace that you experience after a session.
- Better Focus
The more time you spend visualizing your ideal future, the more focused you’ll become in reality. This will lead to an increase in your desire for making your dreams a reality and accomplishing your goals. Creative visualization helps you to grow as focused as you’ve ever been.
- Boost Motivation
During motivational visualization, you stimulate all your senses, and submerge yourself in a mental image so real that you believe it has already happened. Imagine achieving all your goals along with all the thoughts, feelings and emotions that accompany victory. When you repeatedly imagine yourself with the feelings of success, you can increase your motivation to help reach your end goal. - Increased Performance
Preparing mentally for challenging circumstances can help you develop strategies for responding to potential stressors. While working with my coach on this blog, she told me about Brene Brown’s podcast on FFT’s. She suggested I listen to the podcast and put up the letters FFT somewhere I could see it every day to remind me that it’s going to be hard and don’t stop trying. This has helped me go from posting barely once a month to 3x a week. I am two weeks in, it’s hard and I am pushing through. Click here to sign up for my newsletter to follow me on my journey! Put up something on your computer or where you will see it every day to remind you its going to be hard and to keep going, this is part of the process.
Along with helping you achieve your goals and manifest your deepest desires; creative visualization can provide you with many other benefits that will make your journey to accomplishing your goals that much better.
