Our Lungs Regulate Our Well-Being

Hey Gorgeous,

Tell me, have you maybe been feeling a bit sad or depressed lately?

Or very distant towards other people? Thinking like you are good for nothing and just seeing all your ‘flaws’?

What if I tell you that feeling all this is, let’s say normal, for this time of the year? Because according to Traditional Chinese Medicine teachings, we are now in the season where your lungs are taking the reign in your body.

What is she talking about, right??

Ok, so let me tell you what that means. The whole Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the theory of five elements (water, wood, fire, earth, metal), that are all around us, but also inside of us, in the energy of our five main internal organs (kidneys, liver, spleen, lungs, heart). We have to know how to activate all of them (and when!) for our body to be balanced and our health supporting us fully. The more we use their power, the stronger we are.

You can imagine these five main internal organs as directors of the company, which is your body, and each of them has each own mandate in the span of the year. So now we are in the mandate of the lungs. And if the energy of your lungs is not strong enough, then you can experience all the things I listed at the beginning.

But the good thing is, that we can make the energy of the lungs much stronger with simple breathing exercises and these few months now are the perfect time to do it. And with getting stronger, you will also prepare your body for the winter months and automatically boost your immune system, which we all really want now.

So, I really want you to go outside in nature, or just open the window and consciously breathe deeply for a few minutes every day. In through the nose, out through the mouth, slowly. Not only your lungs will be grateful, you will also get more oxygen in your body, which automatically means more energy. Which we definitely need now with the sleepy dark weather coming upon us.

Conscious breathing will defend away SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), boost your immune system, raise your energy levels (and with it motivation and focus), as well as calm you down and push away any low spirits that might creep upon you.

Let’s get breathing and make our lungs stronger together.

In and out.

In and out.

In and out.

You got this!

All the love,
