What did you want to be when you grow up?
This is a question that has been asked to me quite a few times in the last few weeks.
I had the hardest time answering because, for the life of me, I could not remember (If you put me on the spot and ask me to name 5 or more things there is a real good chance I will not be able to).
My feelings were never super strong as to what exactly I wanted to do.
It was not until I was dancing around in my living room to some electronic beats that I realized, I wanted to be an interior decorator or a fashion designer. I also had some plans to be a rock star until my dreams were crushed by the devil we call stage fright.
When you are young, you have this innate sense of who you are and what you want to be when you grow up. You go full force because you have not yet been beaten down and conditioned to think you cannot do it. That energy that pulls you, is the same one that makes you believe in your heart of hearts that it is real.
In order for me to tap into that driving force, I had to have the rug pulled out from under me.It was not until then, I knew what I needed to do. I researched, attended coaching seminars and from that, I compiled a list of the best ways to boost your goals and achieve anything and everything you have ever wanted. Pick meaningful goals-This is a big one! Be 100% honest with yourself about what exactly you want out of your life. Be detailed, put pen to paper and write down what you want then manifest these goals on a daily basis. Check out this post on how to decide what you really want!
Adopt a Mantra-This should be something easy to say that stirs up deep emotion in you. Repeat frequently, yell it out loud, or sing it in the shower. During my morning runs I tell myself “ I demand my subconscious mind to be the light give love and do for others as I do for myself. Strengthen me, strengthen the best parts of me, my love, my courage, my compassion. Help my body run in good form, power my legs to increase my cadence. I want to qualify for the Boston Marathon, and I recently added the last part for my running.
Establish a daily routine– Daily routines help train our mind on what is going to happen next. You can adopt routines like going to the gym, go to bed early and wake up early. Making your bed everyday is an easy one to do that will spark more changes. Daily repetition is what is going to help you move to the next level

Plan-Use a calendar and keep it in plain sight, determine the best time for you to work on your goal and block your time. Pick the top 3 things you want to get done every day and block out your time to complete it, I call this your T3. If you do not get it done, move it to the next day. Track your progress to make sure you are on target from those detailed goals you made from step number 2.
Break it into smaller goals-Keep it simple, complication is a sure fire way to make you fail, what you are trying to do should be easy. Break the task down into smaller steps for you to complete.
Be flexible on your methods-If something is not working-change it! Don’t change your goal, that will always stay the same. Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. – Harriet Beecher Stowe

Increase your knowledge-Read nightly, find free courses, and google is your friend. Using your car rides, or gym time to listen to podcasts or learning sessions is a fantastic way to get this step in when you have “no free time.”
Find an accountability partner– Find Facebook groups, get a coach, use friends or family. Check in weekly and discuss your progress and where you are stuck. Surround yourself with the type of person you want to be. These are the people that will help you level up. If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.
Ditch fear-Quit obsessing, stop trying to be perfect and use rejection as fuel to your fire to succeed.
Change your perspective– I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that do not work-Thomas Edison
